Client documents that arrive complete, checked and filed
HelloFriday asks your client for the documents a job needs, checks each file against your list, files it on the client record and follows up on anything missing. You step in when something needs a decision.

Every step logged
Requests, reminders, checks and filing are recorded on the client record.
No client account
Your client uses one link, from a phone or a computer.
How client document collection works
Friday works from a checklist you control. Every document goes through the same four steps, and you can see where each one stands.
- 1
Request
Friday builds the checklist for the job and sends one request with a single upload link. You start it, or an event in the job does.
- 2
Check
Friday reads each file, matches it to its item and flags what looks wrong, such as an expired date, a missing signature or an unreadable photo.
- 3
File
Accepted files go on the client record under the right heading, with a log of who sent what and when.
- 4
Chase
Friday follows up on what is missing until the list is complete. Then the next step starts, such as a kickoff booked or a job opened.
Chasing stops when the last document lands
You set the reminder schedule once. Friday sends each reminder in your tone, tells the client exactly what is still missing and stops as soon as the list is complete. If anything is still open at the due date, you are told.
- Day 0Request sentOne message with the checklist and an upload link.
- Day 3First reminderShort, in your tone, listing what is still missing.

Documents Friday can request and check
A typical onboarding list is below. The list is yours: add, remove or reword any item for your firm. Friday checks each file against it and flags anything it is unsure about instead of guessing. It does not give legal or compliance advice.

| Photo ID | What Friday checksLegible, in date and matches the person named | Filed underIdentity |

Client document collection for four common jobs
Each case starts from a different event and ends with the next step of the job.
New client onboarding documents
Photo ID, business registration, a signed engagement letter, billing details and who can approve work, in before the job opens.
Engagement kickoff access
Logins, brand files, a stakeholder list, key dates and previous records, in before the kickoff call.
Contractor or supplier onboarding
Business registration, insurance, bank details, a signed agreement and licences, in before the first payment.
New hire paperwork
Employment contract, tax declaration, super choice, bank details and right to work, in before day one.
What starts a document request
A request can start from one click or from something that happens in the job. Friday sends the list that fits the situation.
| Starts when | What Friday sends | |
|---|---|---|
| You click Request documents on a client | What Friday sendsThe checklist you choose | |
| A client signs an engagement | What Friday sendsThe onboarding list for that job | |

How much Friday does on its own
You choose the level for each type of request and can change it at any time. Every request, reminder, check and filing is logged against the client record, so you can see what was sent and when.
| Level | Friday does | You do |
|---|---|---|
| Assisted | Friday doesDrafts the checklist and the request | You doReview and send it |
| Delegated | Friday doesSends the request and the reminders | You doApprove new request types and handle anything flagged |
| Autonomous | Friday doesRequests, checks, files and chases | You doRead the summary and handle exceptions |
Questions about collecting client documents
Where are client documents stored?
Accepted files are filed on the client record in your HelloFriday workspace, next to the rest of that client's work. Access follows the permissions you set for your team.
Does my client need an account?
No. Your client gets a request with an upload link and sends files from there. They do not create a login or install anything.
Can I approve requests before they are sent?
Yes. Each type of request has a level: Assisted, Delegated or Autonomous. At Assisted, Friday drafts and you approve each send. You can change the level at any time.
What if a document is wrong or unreadable?
Friday flags it with the reason and asks the client for a replacement. The flagged item stays open on the checklist until a good file arrives, and you can see it on the record.
Can I see what Friday did?
Yes. Every request, reminder, flag and filing is logged on the client record with the time and the file involved.
